- What products do you provide, what are the differences?
Currently, we provide three versions of GoldenReader for your preference: Free version, Silver version and Gold version. The main difference is that the Silver and Gold versions support AT&T Natural Voices, while the Free version does not. Additionally, the Gold version has more powerful functions than the Free one and the Silver version can be used to edit audio files. To find out the details, go to Products Comparison.

- What voices are used in the Free version?
Please note that in the Free version, only Microsoft Mary voice is available.

- What voices are included in the Silver and Gold versions?
Both the Silver and Gold versions include at least 2 AT&T Natural Voices: one male voice such as Natural Mike 16k Voice and one female voice such as Natural Crystal 16k Voice. To listen to AT&T Natural Voices samples, please click here.

- Why are Natural Voices not available in the Free version?
Due to licensing restrictions, we are not permitted to include these natural sounding voices in the Free version. Although the Microsoft Mary voice may sound a bit mechanical, it allows you to experience how the text-to-speech technology can influence your reading style.

- Is GoldenReader easy to use?
Yes, GoldenReader is quite easy to use. It's designed with the end-user in mind to avoid any usability issues. Just one click, you can hear each word, sentence, chapter spoken or hear the complete story read.

- Does GoldenReader support other language voices besides English?
Yes. Besides Mike and Crystal voices, we sell premium voices from AT&T such as US voices Claire & Rich, UK voices Audrey & Charles, as well as French, German and Spanish voices. You can hear samples of these voices by clicking here.
You can order these Natural Voices after you have purchased GoldenReader. Please note that this means you have to first buy either the Personal or the Professional version.

- Can I redistribute your Free version?
Yes, you can download it, use it and redistribute it for free. But you should notify us and get our permission first when you intend to redistribute it.
- Does GoldenReader support MP3?
Of course! GoldenReader allows you to convert any part of the eBook or the complete story into MP3, WAV and OGG files. And you can easily transfer these audio files to your MP3 player, iPod or iphone and listen on the go!

- Can I sell the audio file(s) or talking ebook(s) I made with GoldenReader?
No, you have no right to distribute or sell any audio products which are created by using GoldenReader. Even if you give them away not for profit, you are not allowed to do so.
Permission costs nothing. Ask first. |
